Bulbbul  Review: Story & Performances:

Bulbbul is one of the latest movies released on Netflix.
This was the directorial debut of Anvita Dutt Guptan. Previously she has done
some awesome works as a dialogue writer and lyricist in movies like Kambakkht
Ishq, Shaandaar & Queen, etc. She has not left any stone unturned this time to
bring the best to her debut direction.

Producer Anushka Sharma has really got the x-factor in investing her money
in the right place & for the right people. After the grand success of the web
series “Patal Lok”, she has chosen Bulbbul, a supernatural horror genre movie.

The plot is based on a child bride who becomes mysterious with time while
she grows young. While her child day’s innocence was eye-catching, she was
immensely powerful arriving at a young age. She is good at hiding her pain
and past wounds from everyone.

Tripti Dimri as Bulbbul and Badi bahu of the Thakur family has given her
the best performance to date. She made her Bollywood debut with the
movie “Poster Boys”. She has received lots of praise from the audience
for her role in the movie Laila Majnu. Avinash Tiwary was the male
lead in that movie.

Paoli Dam as Binodini, the chhoti bahu has impressed the audiences
again. She has been a consistent performer for quite some time now.
She started her career in Hindi films with a brilliant performance
in the movie “Hate Story”.

Meanwhile, this was also the debut of Rahul Bose, on the OTT platform.
His character of Indranil, as well as Mahendra, was quite good in the bad
character. He has been praised a lot by Director Anvita Dutt Guptan.

Avinash Tiwary who made his debut in Tu Hai Mera Sunday movie
has played the character of Satya. He had unresolved emotions for Bulbbul,
so when he saw Bulbbul and Dr. Sudip together after coming back from
London was very jealous and curious to learn about Dr. Sudip. When he
heard about the mysterious death of villagers, he dismissed the villager’s claim
as old wives' tales.

After his strong character in Pari, Parambrata Chatterjee has been given another
challenging role and he has tried his heart out with an outstanding
performance. His character of Dr. Sudip was the closest one to Bulbbul’s
heart. He used to spend time with Bulbbul for treatment to heal her
from her wounds.

Few of those characters in the story should have been given more
attention but the story focused on thinly written characters. Director
Anvita Dutt Guptan really tried well to give the audience a good
script with some top performances but there was scope to make it
even better and we are hoping she will be working on those areas.

We would like to mention that Sushant Singh Rajput’s last film
Dil Bechara will premiere on 24th July at 7.30 P.M on
Disney+Hotstar.
