Tiki Taka Review: Story & Performances:
Two young documentary filmmakers (played by Riddhi Sen &
Surangana Bandyopadhyay) were in search of Raju Bhaiya(played by Parambrata
Chatterjee) to make a documentary on his friend Khelechi Ajgubi (played by Emona
Enabulu), a poor African from Senegal. We were taken to the flashback to see
the whole story of Khelechi & Raju’s friendship.
A few years back Khelechi came to Kolkata from Africa for the
first time, having not much money and with so many tensions. While the police
at the Airport was just started to look suspiciously at him, he ran in fear
and went into Raju’s taxi. He was in need of money for his mother’s treatment
and he had to deliver drugs carried in a football to the local drug lord PK
(played by Saswata Chatterjee). PK’s goons picked the wrong person from the Airport.
Khelechi informed Raju to drop him at PK’s house but Raju
thought he was telling about drinking alcohol so he took him to a bar. After waking
up in the morning, Khelechi saw there was no money in his purse. He saw Raju
outside and tried to fight with him but due to local people’s pressure, he
asks another taxi driver to arrive at PK’s house. Raju started following
him, when Khelechi arrives at PK’s house he understood that something was wrong
and he ran away, again Raju was the rescuer for him.
Raju asked him everything and after knowing his situation he
decided to help him to save him from PK. TV journalist Bonnie (played by Ritabhari
Chakraborty) was searching for a big scoop to stop his father from marrying her
so early. Raju observed and understood she was from the Press, so he quickly created
a story in his mind. Raju represented Khelechi in front of Bonnie as a football
player who has played in the youth world cup and the managers of Mohun Bagan & East
Bengal (Played by Kharaj Mukherjee and Paran Bandopadhyay respectively) have
expressed their desire to take Khelechi in their team.
Parambrata Chatterjee rarely misses the opportunity to
impress the audiences with his good works. Parambrata Chatterjee was at his
usual best and his character Raju was so convincing. Ritabhari Chakraborty was also
brilliant in portraying the character of a TV journalist.
Saswata Chatterjee & Kanchan Mallick were quite impressive
with their occasional funny moments together. Emona Enabulu provided good
support throughout with his good screen presence.
Tiki Taka, a sports-based comedy movie has almost everything
to give you refreshment in this pandemic. Raju & Khelechi’s friendship
moments were something to watch out in this movie. Football fans will love the
craze shown between Mohun Bagan & East Bengal in a match at the climax.
The Film is streaming on ZEE5.
