Ginny Weds Sunny Review: Story & Performances
Netflix and Vikrant Massey’s successful partnership continues with another blockbuster Ginny Weds Sunny after the recently released hit movie “Cargo”.
The story of the movie revolves around a west Delhi-based boy Satnam Sethi Aka Sunny (played by Vikrant Massey), who wants to open his own restaurant.
Sunny’s father (played by Rajeev Gupta) has assured him that he will provide him the financial support to open his restaurant but only if Sunny gets married first.
He tried on a few occasions but every time gets rejections as the girl first wants to spend some time to know & love each other. But doesn’t have time and wants to love his wife after their arranged marriage.
On the other hand, Simran Juneja aka Ginny (played by Yami Gautam) works in an insurance company. She has fixed her decision of doing a love marriage only.
Ginny’s mother (played by Ayesha Raza Mishra) is a matchmaker but after many attempts, she failed to find a good match for her own daughter.
Ginny and her ex-boyfriend Nishant Rathee (played by Suhail Nayyar) are in touch as a friend after their breakup.
Sunny’s father met with Ginny’s mother to find a girl for Sunny. Sunny went to one of his friend’s weddings where he found his childhood crush, Ginny. They danced together there which made Sunny so happy after a long time.
The next day Sunny went to meet Ginny's mother, where she offered him to try his luck on her own daughter. She also told Sunny about guiding him in getting close to her daughter.
The rest of the story is about how Ginny and Sunny finally get married to each other.
Director Puneet Khanna is making his directorial debut with Ginny Weds Sunny movie. The plot was quite weak and lacks some twists in the story.
Sunny Vikrant Massey was not usually best in the first half but did well in the second half of the movie. Yami Gautam and Vikrant Massey's on-screen romance was beautiful.
Ginny Yami Gautam was simply exceptional throughout the movie. After the “Vicky Donor” movie she has earned lots of praises for her Ginny character in Ginny Weds Sunny movie.
Some top performances from the lead star casts have made Ginny Weds Sunny movie worth watching.
