Serious Men Movie Story & Performances:
The story of the Serious Men movie is based on Manu Joseph's Novel “Serious Men”.
The plot revolves around a Dalit Tamil migrant in Mumbai Ayyan Mani (played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui), who lives with his family, his wife Oja Mani (played by Indira Tiwari) & son Aadi (played by Aakshath Das). He works as a personal assistant to a Brahman director Arvind Acharya (played by M. Nasser) of the National Institute of Theory and Research.
Ayyan always regretted not achieving his dreams despite being a genius. Aadi’s admission to a reputed English medium school was rejected only because they belong to a Dalit family.
Ayyan’s vision was very clear, he wants his son Aadi to be a bright kid and get all the privileges that he didn’t. Aadi keeps proving himself to be a brilliant student in front of his teachers and sometimes he makes them feel embarrassed for their lack of knowledge.
Aadi keeps getting more popularity for his brilliance. He was interviewed by a news channel which helped in reaching more people to get to know about his talents.
Looking at his faster popularity local politicians showed their eagerness to collaborate with Aadi.
In between Aadi shares the secret of his brilliance with one of his friends. The incident made Ayyan afraid of his future plans to provide Aadi a privileged life.
Director Sudhir Mishra is popularly known for his movies like “Chameli” & “Hazaaron Khwahishein Aisi” has come up with such great content for our entertainment. We are hopeful to get more great movies from him but “Serious Men” will certainly get a special place in audiences’ hearts.
Aakshath Das is simply brilliant in this movie. He is one of the reasons to make you fall in love with “Serious Men” movie. For the first half of the movie, his performance won’t let you leave the seat.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui is another genius present in this movie. His ability to fit into any kind of character so easily and presenting it beautifully in front of us shows his unmatched talents. “Serious Men” was his third blockbuster on Netflix after “Sacred Games” and “Raat Akeli Hai”.
Indira Tiwari was so convincing as a mother as well as a housewife. She was excellent in portraying the different shades of her character.
The rest of the characters also contributed well as per their characters which made “Serious Men” a must-watch movie.
