Sardar Ka Grandson Movie Review: Story & Performances
We have already
watched a few good movies and series recently on Netflix including “The SocialDilemma”, “The White Tiger”, “Ginny Weds Sunny”, “Cargo”, “The Girl on theTrain”, etc. The latest addition to this list is the movie “Sardar Ka Grandson”.
The story
revolves around Amreek(Arjun Kapoor) & Radha(Rakul Preet), who are jointly running
a moving company(companies that help in moving goods from one place to another)
in the US called Gently Gently.
One day
they broke up after fighting over their work and personal life-related issues. Amreek
received a call from Amritsar about his Grandmother Rupinder Kaur’s (Neena
Gupta) critical condition. He had no option except for coming back to his
hometown only for his Grandmother.
After the
conversation with Sardar(Amreek calls her Grandmother by this name), he came to
know about her last wish that is she wants to visit her home in Lahore once.
Sardar
shared her life’s precious moments that she spent with her husband(John Abraham).
It was the charming Aditi Rao Hydari who played Neena Gupta’s young-age’s character.
Can Amreek fulfill
his Grandmother’s last wish? How he will take his Grandmother to Lahore? You
will get all these answers from this movie.
Director Kaashvi
Nair’s direction could have been better. The backstory comprising Aditi Rao
Hydari and John Abraham missed the much-required focus.
Sardar Ka
Grandson is less about the Grandson Arjun Kapoor and more about the emotional
relationship between Arjun Kapoor and Neena Gupta.
It was
mainly the performance from Neena Gupta that made Sardar Ka Grandson a
worthy watch. Also, Aditi Rao Hydari and John Abraham’s cameo performances added
more strength to this movie.
Arjun
Kapoor & Rakul Preet Singh delivered average performances. Kumud Mishra did
a decent job as the antagonist.
If you are
looking for a refreshing comedy-drama then add “Sardar Ka Grandson” to your
watchlist.
