Dujone Season 1 Review: Story, Performances & Analysis
Dujone season 1 marks the OTT debut of Tollywood’s two popular names Soham Chakraborty and Srabanti Chatterjee.
The story of Dujone season 1 revolves around Ahona (Srabanti) and her
husband Amar Basu Thakur (Soham). They were living a happily married life
with their family until the day when Amar met with an accident.
He keeps forgetting things from personal to professional everything. These
came to the notice of Ahana and she kept looking for the answers to whether
there was something wrong with Amar.
After giving a few attempts she finally went to a private investigator to
find out the truth. The investigator gave some valuable hints about Amar but
before he could reveal the whole story, he disappeared.
The first 5-6 episodes offered nothing much but in the later episodes, we
were introduced to Salman Rashid(Also Soham). He keeps the sunglass in
Salman Khan’s
Dabangg style, yet reminded the IB officer about his name Salman Rashid and
not Khan. Ahana fell in deep trouble when she correctly guessed about Amar’s
secret business.
What happened to Amar? Was Salman Rashid a saviour of Ahana? What kind of trouble Ahana was in? Who saved her from the trouble? To know the answers to these questions you have to watch the series on Hoichoi.
Only the last two episodes were able to keep us hooked to our seats. A Lot
of questions remain unanswered in the series and the climax hinted
towards a season 2 soon.
Srabanti’s performance and Amit-Ishan’s solid background score are the
highlights of the series. Soham was good only in a few scenes. Director
Promita Bhattacharya failed to give much focus on building the lead
characters.
Amit-Ishan’s background score has been highly impressive. We have already
experienced this composer duo’s magical compositions in their earlier
projects like
Mohomaya,
Charitraheen Season 3,
Dracula Sir,
BreakupStory,
Tasher Ghawr, etc.
What does this series promise to offer?
A noteworthy performance from Srabanti Chatterjee, an engaging last two
episodes, and Amit-Ishan’s enjoyable background score.
What was bad about this series?
Dujone is partly entertaining but mostly disappointing. There were so
many things to reveal that one kept waiting for more than 4 hours but got
hardly anything. Its dull narrative, slow pace, unconvincing characters, and
failure in keeping the audience hooked with some twists may leave you
completely disappointed after 4 hours.
The on-screen chemistry between Soham-Srabanti was so good in director
Rajib Kumar’s “Amanush” movie. But you will rarely find any glimpse of it in
Dujone season 1 mystery thriller.
