Sarileru Neekevvaru Review: Story, Performances & Analysis

The story of “Sarileru Neekevvaru” revolves around Major Ajay Krishna(Mahesh Babu) in the Indian Army whose style of handling every mission, patriotism leave everyone impressed.

During one of their missions to rescue the children, another person named Ajay from Major Ajay’s regiment got severely injured. He had applied for leave due to his sister’s wedding. Owing to his current health condition Brigadier decided to send Major Ajay & his colleague Siva Prasad(Rajendra Prasad) to injured Ajay’s sister’s wedding and inform them about his health condition once the marriage is over.

On their way to Kurnool by train, they came across a family. They fixed their younger daughter Samskruthi’s(Rashmika Mandanna) marriage to a below-average guy. Samskruthi falls for Major Ajay Krishna at first sight.

After arriving in Kurnool, Major Ajay & Siva Prasad saw the injured Ajay’s family’s helpless situation. They were fighting for survival against the threat given by the corrupted MLA Yeddula Nagendra’s(Prakash Raj) men.

Can Ajay save the family from Nagendra’s men? Can Samskruthi convince Ajay to marry her? Is there any twist in the story? You will get to know all these answers after watching the “Sarileru Neekevvaru” movie.

There is no doubt that the action-comedy film “Sarileru Neekevvaru” is a one-man show of Mahesh Babu. Whether you talk about his acting, dialogue delivery, expressions, dance, he was just superb. His dance on the song “Mind Block” with Tamannah was mind-blowing.

Prakash Raj and Vijayashanti were the other major contributors with their respective characters. If the character of Nagendra could have been written well, we would have got much better output from someone like Prakash Raj. Rashmika Mandanna was good in some parts but mostly her character looked forceful and overdramatic.

Anil Ravipudi didn’t focus too much on the script as some of the scenes looked completely unnecessary like the one when Samskruthi accuses Ajay of raping her just to trap him and get married to him.

Anil Ravipudi made his directorial debut with Nandamuri Kalyan Ram starrer movie “Pataas”. His other directorial movies include Sai Dharam Tej, Raashi Khanna starrer movie “Supreme”, Ravi Teja starrer movie “Raja The Great”, Venkatesh, Varun Tej, Tamannah, Mehreen Pirzada starrer movie “F2: Fun and Frustration”.

What is good about this movie?

The top-notch performances by Mahesh Babu, Prakash Raj, Vijayashanti, and Devi Sri Prasad’s music are the highlights of the movie.

What is bad about this movie?

The weak plot, failure to bring the best out of Prakash Raj and Rashmika Mandanna, are some of the areas that might not impress you a lot.

It looks like Mahesh Babu is completely focused on choosing better scripts. From 2015 onwards we have seen him going with a plan of 1 film per year.
