Rabindranath Ekhane Kokhono Khete Asenni Web Series Review: Story
This series is an adaptation of Bangladeshi author Mohammad
Nazim Uddin’s novel Rabindranath Ekhane Kokhono Khete Asenni.
Rabindranath Ekhane Kokhono Khete Asenni is a restaurant in
Sundarpur, owned by Mushkan Zuberi(Azmeri Haque Badhon). Besides being known as
a good chef, local people also call her by the name of a witch, or seductress. The restaurant is renowned for serving its customers the best quality and delicious food items.
People from far distances come here to eat their desired food.
One fine day Nirupam Chanda(Rahul Bose), a journalist also
arrived there to taste the food. He was highly impressed with the food quality
and taste. After coming to know about local Police informer Ator Ali(Anirban
Bhattacharya), Nirupam offered him an amount of Rs 500 per day in exchange for
information. Ator Ali agreed to help him with his desired information.
Nirupam kept an eye on Mushkan Zuberi’s activities and on
the people who came to meet her. He was keen to know more about the mysterious
owner. Who was Nirupam Chanda in real? Why he was curious about Mushkan Zuberi?
Who was Mushkan Zuberi? To get all these answers and for a thrilling experience,
you have to switch on to “Hoichoi”.
Performance & Analysis:
A few scenes deserve special mentions. The scene when Nirupam
Chanda was taken to the Police station for interrogation forced him to reveal
his real identity. In another scene when Mushkan Zuberi had to reveal her
past in front of Nirupam Chanda, only then we come to know about the background
of that plane crash.
Thanks to the warning message from Hoichoi that informed viewers
before showing those disturbing graphics and visuals.
Bangladeshi actress Azmeri Haque Badhon is the show stealer
of “Rabindranath Ekhane Kokhono Khete Asenni”. An impeccable performance from
her will not allow you to leave your seats.
Anirban Bhattacharya was seen in a completely different role
than whatever we have seen him in till date. If you have already watched his plays
or his roles in Dwitiyo Purush, Detective, Dracula Sir, Byomkesh Bakshi,
or Gumnaami then you know those were all top-notch performances from him. Ator
Ali, the police informer will make you fall for him again.
Rahul Bose’s Nirupam Chanda will keep you on the hunt for
the truth. His bonding with Ator Ali, his style of handling cases, overall was a remarkable performance from him.
Anjan Dutt, Anirban Chakraborty, Alexx O'Nell also added valuable
contributions with their respective characters.
Rabindranath Ekhane Kokhono Khete Asenni is the second
Bengali web series of Srijit Mukherji after Feluda Ferot. If you already have
watched his thrillers like Baishe Srabon, Chotushkone, then you will know Rabindranath
Ekhane Kokhono Khete Asenni” certainly was not up to the mark in terms of
storytelling. He has raised the bar with each of his masterpieces. We will be happier
to get a season 2 of this series.
The magical combination of Joy Sarkar, Ustad Rashid Khan, and Jayati Chakrabarty has made the songs more melodious. Especially Joy Sarkar’s composition on those Rabindra Sangeet deserves great accolades.
Hindi dubbed version of REKKA is now available on Hoichoi TV
and it has been titled Rabindranath Yaha Kabhi Nahi Aaye.
