Akshay Kumar As Major General Ian Cardozo in “Gorkha”:
After finalizing the date of his upcoming movie “Sooryavanshi”, Akshay Kumar has announced his maiden collaboration with director Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan for their new movie titled “Gorkha”.
He released two first look posters of “Gorkha” on 15.10.2021, the auspicious day of Dussehra. The war-drama film is based on Major General Ian Cardozo’s life and his fight in 1962, 1965, and the India-Pakistan war of 1971. Producers Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma will bankroll “Gorkha”.
Akshay Kumar previously worked in a war drama movie was director Anil Sharma’s “Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo” starring Amitabh Bachchan, Bobby Deol, Divya Khosla Kumar in 2004. The film had a box office collection of more than 31 million rupees. After "Bell Bottom" his next release of this year is director Aanand L Rai’s “Atrangi Re” co-starring Dhanush & Sara Ali Khan.
National Award-winning director Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan made his directorial debut with the sports drama movie “Lahore” starring Aanaahad, Shraddha Das, Farooq Sheikh, Nafisa Ali, Sabyasachi Chakrabarty which was released in 2010.
