Byomkesh Season 7 Review: Story, Performances & Analysis
Hoichoi’s new series Byomkesh Season 7: Chorabali is based on famous writer Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay’s creation “Chorabali” aka Quicksand.
The story revolves around the sudden disappearance of Zamindar Himangshu Babu’s(Arjun Chakrabarty) daughter Baby’s teacher Harinath Chowdhury left Dewanji(Chandan Sen) as well as Himangshu Babu worried.
Himangshu Babu’s friend Zamindar Kumar Tridib informed him about the arrival of Byomkesh Bakshi(Anirban Bhattacharya) at Chorabali Estate, he also suggested he take help from Byomkesh to find out Harinath.
After arrival Kumar Tridib(Kinjal Nanda) introduced Byomkesh Bakshi along with Ajit(Suprabhat Das) & Satyabati(Ridhima Ghosh) to Himangshu Babu.
Tridib told Byomkesh everything about the missing of Harinath which can help him in resolving the case quickly.
A few scenes deserve a lot of appreciation for their execution. One of those was when Byomkesh requested Himangshu Babu to show his blindfolded shooting skill.
Director Soumik Halder’s well-crafted Byomkesh Season 7: Chorabali was very much successful in keeping the suspense alive till the very end. He had also directed Byomkesh Season 6: Mogno Mainak, which received accolades from audiences.
Each character was given sufficient screen time and the background score by Subhadip Guha was perfect to create the mood of mystery.
Anirban Bhattacharya once again was absolutely brilliant in portraying the character of Byomkesh Bakshi. If you look at the characters he played from the last year, Dwitiyo Purush, Detective, Dracula Sir, Mukhosh, Golondaaj, Rabindranath Ekhane Kokhono Khete Asenni, each one of them was top-notch.
He will also feature in upcoming movies like Birpurush & Balighar. He will also make his directorial debut this year with “Mandaar”.
Kinjal Nanda who was highly impressive in the Hiralal movie provided valuable support with his character of Zamindar Kumar Tridib. Ridhima Ghosh as Satyabati was convincing, Suprabhat Das as Ajit, Arjun Chakrabarty as Zamindar Himangshu Babu & Chandan Sen as Dewanji also provided noteworthy performances.
The comparison between two different stories of the Byomkesh series seems quite unfair but in a few parts, I think season 7 was quite better than season 6.
