Actor Dev and Director Avijit Sen’s Maiden Collaboration:
On 24th November 2021, Actor Dev released the trailer
of his upcoming movie Tonic. Fresh from the success of the recently released
Golondaaj movie, Bengali actor Dev is all set for the release of his new movie
Tonic which will arrive in theatres on Christmas this year. Tonic marks the
directorial debut of Avijit Sen in the Bengali film industry. This is also the
first time Dev is collaborating with Avijit Sen.
Tonic is Produced by Atanu Roychowdhury and Pranab Kumar
Guha and co-produced by Dev under their banners Bengal Talkies & Dev
Entertainment Ventures.
Tonic (2021) Trailer Review:
From the trailer, it seems that Tonic is about fulfilling
the wishes of Paran Bandyopadhyay and Shakuntala Barua. The story of Tonic looks
fresh and full of emotion and humor. Dev is playing the titular role here and he
helps the couple find the real meaning of life. Dev’s character looks
completely different than whatever role he has portrayed till date in his
career.
Sujan Mukhopadhyay who played vital roles in web series like
Mohomaya, and Maradonar Juto recently, is playing the character of Paran
Bandyopadhyay and Shakuntala Barua’s son. Tanushree Chakraborty, Koneenica
Banerjee, Biswajit Chakraborty, Rajatabha Dutta, Biswanath Basu will also play
crucial roles in Tonic.
Paran Bandyopadhyay was last seen in the movie Cholo Potol
Tuli in 2020 & he is playing an important role in Abhishek Bachchan starrer
upcoming movie Bob Biswas. Shakuntala Barua was last seen in the movie Sahaj
Paather Gappo in 2016.
Music Director Jeet Ganguli who has composed the songs of
Jeet and Mimi starrer movie Baazi will compose the songs of Tonic. Dev & Jeet
Ganguli’s last collaboration was Kidnap co-starring Rukmini Maitra which was
released in 2019.
There are a few projects lined up for Dev to be released in
2022, some of those are Kishmish, Khelaghor, Kacher Manush, Projapoti, Dhumketu, RaghuDakat.
