Baba Baby O (2022) Review: Story, Performance & Analysis:
Megh Roddur Chatterjee, played by Jisshu Sengupta, is a 40-year-old man who decides to become a father via surrogacy. However, most of the people in his life, including his parents Molina Chatterjee (Reshmi Sen) and Ramen Chatterjee (Rajat Ganguly), were unaware of this method. Megh faces various comments from people around him, except for his best friend Raja, played by Mainak Banerjee.
When the twin babies arrive, named Potol and Posto by Megh's parents, the family is filled with happiness. But Megh's father assumes that Megh and Raja, who is gay, are having an affair. Megh meets Brishti, played by Solanki Roy, who owns a toy shop for kids, and he slowly falls in love with her. However, Megh's happiness is short-lived when he meets Brishti's fiancé, Souvik, played by Gourab Chatterjee, at their house party.
The story follows whether Megh and Brishti will have a happy ending or not, as they navigate their feelings and the challenges in their lives. Along the way, we see Megh's growth as a responsible single father, and the sweet and cute twin babies will bring a smile to your face. Rajat Ganguly and Mainak Banerjee deliver great comic timing, with Banerjee's character occasionally connecting present situations with 90s Bollywood movies to bring Megh and Brishti closer.
Although Solanki Roy's screen presence is underutilized in this movie, she is capable of delivering far better performances. Nonetheless, Jisshu Sengupta delivers a consistent and heartwarming performance as Megh, showcasing his range as an actor.
Overall, if you are looking for a heartwarming family drama to enjoy with your loved ones, Baba Baby O is definitely worth a watch.
