On 26th January 2023, DEV Entertainment Ventures shared the new poster of Superstar Dev starring upcoming period drama Bagha Jatin directed by Arun Roy. Dev looks like a Saint in the poster. His intense look seems very much similar to Jatindranath Mukhopadhyay, the principal leader of the Jugantar Party who received the title Bagha after killing a tiger.
Dev’s previous movie Projapati co-starring Mithun Chakraborty & Mamata Shankar is still running successfully in theatres in its 5th week. Apart from the family drama Projapoti, Dev was featured in back-to-back blockbuster movies like Golondaaj, Tonic, Kishmish, and Kacher Manush in the last couple of years.
This is Arun Roy’s 4th film as a director after Egaro: The Immortal XI, Hiralal, and 8/11 Binay Badal Dinesh. This is certainly a big challenge for him too as he knows the audience’s expectations are higher due to Dev’s presence in this film, so it will be interesting to see how he presents Dev in front of the audience.

Sreeja Dutta as Indubala in Bagha Jatin:
Sreeja Dutta will make her debut in Bagha Jatin. She will portray the character of Jatindranath Mukhopadhyay’s wife Indubala. She was featured in Raj Chakraborty directed music video ''Elo Maa Dugga Thakur'' and in a commercial with actress Mimi Chakraborty. This is certainly a big opportunity for her to make a debut in a lead role opposite Superstar Dev.
The first look poster of Bagha Jatin was released on 15th August 2022. The shooting of this period drama based on the life of Jatindranath Mukhopadhyay started on 27th January 2023 and the film will be released in theatres this year Durga Puja.
