Dilkhush (2023) Review: Story & Performances
Four couples Doctor Amulyaratan (Paran Banerjee) & Kamalika Devi (Ansuya Majumder), Dolly (Aparajita Aadhya) & Shakti (Kharaj Mukherjee), Pushpita (Madhumita Sarcar) & Rishi (Soham Majumdar), & Trisha (Aishwarya Sen) & Bodhi (Ujan Chatterjee) met in a dating app called Dilkhush which is developed by Putul (Ananya Sen). How their relationships progress and what happens with them at the end form the rest of the story.
This is Rahool Mukherjee’s second directorial project after Kishmish. The concept of this movie is pretty genuine and people nowadays are spending a good amount of time on such apps to find new friends and partners. The most entertaining part of Dilkhush was the chemistry between Paran Bandopadhyay & Anashua Majumdar and Aparajita Adhya & Kharaj Mukherjee and you will really enjoy watching these couples.
The chemistry that didn’t work was between social media influencer Trisha & Ph.D. student Bodhi and Pushpita & Rishi and the reason for this was the failure to connect the audience emotionally. There was no backstory of Bodhi and Putul’s relationship which deserved more focus. The cameo by Anirban Bhattacharya, Srijit Mukherji, and Arindam Sil didn’t add any value to it.
Nilayan Chatterjee once again delivers a few magical compositions & apart from the decent background score. The editor Sharmistha Chakrabartty & cinematographer Modhura Palit both were equally impressive.
The character of Madhumita Sarcar was poorly written. There was a lot one could extract from someone who delivered Uttoron, Cheeni, & Srikanto. Debutant Aishwarya Sen looked okay in parts. Ujan Chatterjee as Bodhi could have been much better. Soham Majumdar as Rishi delivered a decent performance.
A good concept and a few praiseworthy performances are why one should not miss the romantic drama Dilkhush on Hoichoi.
