Fatafati (2023) Bengali Movie: Ritabhari Chakraborty & Abir Chatterjee to share the screen space

Director Aritra Mukherjee’s upcoming romantic-drama film Fatafati starring Abir Chatterjee and Ritabhari Chakraborty will be released in theatres on 12th May 2023. Aritra Mukherjee is mostly known for directing films with a social message which we already saw in his previous films Baba Baby O & Brahma Janen Gopon Kommoti.

Ritabhari Chakraborty is playing the character of Phullora Bhaduri. She will be romancing Abir Chatterjee on-screen for the first time and it will be interesting to see how fans react to this new pair. After the success of Brahma Janen Gopon Kommoti, Ritabhari Chakraborty was featured in Tiki-Taka & FIR but none of them left any impact at the box office.

Last year Abir Chatterjee was featured in Karnasubarner Guptodhon, Byomkesh Hotyamancha, & Abar Bochhor Koori Pore. The adventure thriller Karnasubarner Guptodhon received a massive response from the audiences and it became a blockbuster.

Fatafati is about the struggle of Phullora as she aspires to become a model but her weight is the biggest barrier on her way and it highlights the issue of body shaming. Will Phullora be able to fulfill her dream?

The film is produced by Nandita Roy & Shiboprosad Mukherjee under the banner Windows Production, with story & screenplay by Zinia Sen, and dialogues by Samragnee Bandyopadhyay. The film also marks the second collaboration between Aritra Mukherjee and Ritabhari Chakraborty after Brahma Janen Gopon Kommoti.

On 7th March 2023, the makers shared a teaser on social media where we can see Abir Chatterjee and Ritabhari Chakraborty wishing Happy Holi to each other. Swastika Dutta will portray a crucial role in this film.
