Dawshom Awbotaar: Srijit Mukherji brings Bengal’s first cop universe this Durga Puja

Dawshom Awbotaar (Dasham Avatar): Double prequel of 'Baishe Srabon’ &‘Vinci Da'

Srijit Mukherji and Durga Puja is a super hit combination for moviegoers. After making his directorial debut in 2010 with Autograph, there was a huge demand among moviegoers for his Puja releases. Thereafter, he delivered blockbuster films like Baishey Srabon in 2011, Mishawr Rawhoshyo in 2013, & Gumnaami in 2019 during Durga Puja.

The brilliant storyteller has announced that his upcoming film titled Dawshom Awbotaar (Dasham Avatar) will be released this year during Durga Puja. The crime thriller will be a double prequel to his directorial films Baishe Srabon and Vinci Da. Both of these films were successful at the box office and the latter has been remade in Telugu titled Ravanasura starring Ravi Teja.

Dawshom Awbotaar starring Prosenjit Chatterjee, Anirban Bhattacharya, Jisshu U Sengupta, & Subhashree Ganguly will be a joint venture of SVF Entertainment and Jio Studios. Prosenjit Chatterjee as Probir Roy Chowdhury in ‘Baishe Srabon’ and Anirban as Bjoy Poddar in ‘Vinci Da’ left a mark in audiences’ hearts. They will be featured in Bengal’s first cop universe directed by Srijit Mukherji and this sounds like the next big thing in the Bengali film industry.

Also, fans across social media platforms are showing their excitement for this Srijit Mukherji and Prosenjit Chatterjee collaboration. This year Prosenjit Chatterjee appeared in projects like Kaberi Antardhan, Jubilee, & Shesh Pata. His performance on Jubilee on Amazon Prime Video has been applauded by audiences and critics. His upcoming projects are Ardhangini, Sajhghor, Daktar Kaku, & Devi Choudhurani.

After making his Telugu debut in 2019 with NTR: Kathanayakudu actor Jisshu U Sengupta has appeared in 8 Bengali films, 8 Telugu films, & 7 Hindi films. Last year he appeared in Abhijaan & Baba Baby O. He will be also featured in upcoming films like Palaan, Shaakuntalam, Bilal, & Tiger Nageswara Rao.

After his brilliant big screen directorial debut with Ballabhpurer Roopkotha last year, this year Anirban Bhattacharya appeared in Mithye Premer Gaan & Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway but both of these two films failed to leave any impact but delivered a good performance in Byomkesh O Pinjrapol.

Subhashree Ganguly delivered a stunning performance in her OTT debut Indubala Bhater Hotel. It will be interesting how director Srijit Mukherji utilizes her talent for this crime thriller.

Dawshom Awbotaar (Dasham Avatar) will clash with Jongole Mitin Mashi starring Koel Mallick, Bagha Jatin starring Dev, & Raktabeej starring Abir Chatterjee & Mimi Chakraborty. Looks like this year Durga Puja will bring triple excitement to moviegoers as the top stars of the Bengali film industry compete at the box office.
