On 14th September 2023, director Srijit Mukherji confirmed the highly anticipated release date for his upcoming crime thriller Dawshom Awbotaar. The film is set to hit theaters on 19th October 2023, marking Mukherji's return to the charismatic thriller genre after a hiatus of over two years.

This multi-starrer production serves as a double prequel to Srijit Mukherji's previous cinematic creations, Baishey Shrabon and Vinci Da. Prosenjit Chatterjee will reprise his role as Probir Roy Chowdhury, while Anirban Bhattacharya will once again portray Bjoy Poddar, continuing the legacy of their characters from these two acclaimed films.

Srijit Mukherji Unveiled the First Look Poster of Dawshom Awbotaar:

On 6th September 2023, Director Srijit Mukherji took to his social media handle to unveil the captivating first-look poster of "Dawshom Awbotaar." This cinematic masterpiece is a collaborative effort between SVF Entertainment and Jio Studios.

The poster itself is a work of art, showcasing the film's leading actors, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Anirban Bhattacharya, Jaya Ahsan, and Jisshu U Sengupta, in ten divine avatars of Lord Vishnu. These avatars include the Tortoise (Kurma), Chess Horse (Kalki), Axe (Parasurama), Fish (Matsya), Buddhist Prayer Wheel (Lord Buddha), Lion-Man (Narasimha), bow and arrow (Lord Rama), Bonsai Plant (Vamana), Boar (Varaha), and peacock feather (Lord Krishna).

The poster not only promises a visually stunning cinematic experience but also hints at the rich mythological and thematic elements that are sure to make "Dawshom Awbotaar" a truly unforgettable film.

Anupam Roy and Director Srijit Mukherji’s 10^th Collaboration:

Dawshom Awbotaar marks the remarkable 10th collaboration between renowned musician Anupam Roy and director Srijit Mukherji. Their creative journey together began with Autograph and continued with a string of successful films, including Baishe Srabon, Hemlock Society, Chotushkone, Zulfiqar, Uma, Shah Jahan Regency, Vinci Da, and Dwitiyo Purush.

Dwitiyo Purush, directed by Srijit Mukherji, was his last Bengali thriller in 2022. Subsequently, he ventured into directing four more movies, namely Kakababur Protyaborton, X=Prem, Sherdil: The Pilbhit Saga, and Shabash Mithu. He took a hiatus from directing in 2021, primarily due to the challenges posed by the pandemic.

In 2021, Srijit Mukherji directed web series namely Ray Season 1 on Netflix and "Rabindranath Ekhane Kokhono Khete Asenni on Hoichoi both of which received favorable responses on their respective platforms.

As the time has begun to confirm the release date of upcoming films, Dev recently unveiled the teaser for his upcoming film Bagha Jatin and confirmed that it will grace theaters on 20th October 2023.
