Dadur Kirti Bengali Web Series: The story of Chowdhury Poribar will be unveiled on Hoichoi

Rahool Mukherjee, who made his big-screen directorial debut with the rom-com drama Kishmish, starring Dev and Rukmini Maitra, is now set for his debut in the world of OTT with the Dadur Kirti web series. This marks Mukherjee's third directorial venture following Kishmish and Dilkhush. The announcement for the upcoming series was made during Hoichoi's 7th season grand event. Leading roles in this series are portrayed by Paran Bandopadhyay and Satyam Bhattacharya.

The script and screenplay for the series have been meticulously crafted by Sreejib. On October 2, 2023, Hoichoi released an announcement teaser for Dadur Kirti on their social media channels. The teaser, lasting 2 minutes and 19 seconds, features Satyam Bhattacharya sharing details about the Chowdhury family, holding a book titled "Chowdhury Poribar." He remarks, "Sounds ancient, right? It might be a little eerie, but the residents of the Chowdhury family are as grand as the house itself. It used to be a full house, though I'm not sure whether it was filled with humans or something else. Sorry, it's not my place to say, as I'm not part of the family; those who have long severed ties."

"Let's begin with the oldest members," he continues. "Grandparents Satinath Chowdhury (Paran Bandopadhyay) and Sandhya Chowdhury (Anasua Majumder) are the only ones living here now, and they are full of life. However, the children are dead inside. The eldest son, Mrinal (Shantilal Mukherjee), his wife Devika, and their children Saikat (Rwitobroto Mukherjee) and Srijita. They've been so engrossed in chasing after money that they've forgotten their family."

He then introduces, "The eldest daughter of the family, Haimanti Chowdhury Mukherjee (Chandreyee Ghosh), and her husband Siddhartha Mukherjee (Kanchan Mullick). They rarely visit the family, but if they catch wind of money, they'll come overnight. Their children, Pritha and Palash, are both sweet."

He goes on to describe Nikhilesh Chowdhury, who resides there, but his intentions are questionable. The youngest daughter, Binodini, and her husband, Parijat, haven't come home since they got married and settled abroad.

Bhattacharya then asks, "Money, property, estate, what good is all that? The people I've been talking about are the real gems of this family. But will they realize it? What will Grandfather do to teach them a lesson?"

The teaser offers a glimpse into the plot, which revolves around the Chowdhury Poribar and the strategies Grandfather will employ to bring the family together. Whether he will succeed or not will be unveiled on Hoichoi soon. The shooting for this series has already commenced, although the teaser, trailer, and official release date are yet to be confirmed.

This year Paran Bandopadhyay was featured in projects like Abar Proloy, Dilkhush, Mayar Jonjal, & Angshuman MBA and he will be also seen in Dev starring upcoming film Pradhan directed by Avijit Sen.
