The highly-anticipated trailer for Srijit Mukherji's upcoming mystery thriller, Durgo Rawhoshyo, was finally unveiled on October 6, 2023. The nearly three-minute trailer opens with a scene set in Calcutta in 1967, featuring the trio of Byomkesh Bakshi (Anirban Bhattacharya), Ajit Bandyopadhyay (Rahul Banerjee), and Satyabati (Sohini Sarkar) returning from watching Uttam Kumar's "Chiriakhana" in theaters. Ajit appears somewhat displeased as he disapproves of the idea of Byomkesh wearing spectacles.

Ajit inquires about the identity of Mohanlal when Byomkesh cryptically mentions, "Sonar pahar dey pahara, ekla Mohanlal." The joy knows no bounds when Byomkesh learns of Satyabati's pregnancy. In another scene, despite Satyabati's precarious condition, she urges Byomkesh to embark on a mission, stating, "Agey Dhormo, tarpor Sohodhormini, Agey Satya tarpor Satyabati".

Byomkesh always prefers to be called "Satyaneshi" (Truth Seeker) rather than a detective. Therefore, when the fortress owner Ram Kishore Singh (Debesh Roychowdhury) refers to him as a renowned detective, Byomkesh corrects him with a firm "Satyaneshi." He embarks on a quest to unravel the mystery surrounding the murder of four individuals driven by greed for hidden treasures at Janakigarh.

Biplab Chatterjee, who made a comeback this year with Shabash Feluda on ZEE5, plays a pivotal role in this series. Chandan Sen, Debraj Bhattacharya, Anujoy Chattopadhyay, and Anusha Viswanathan will also be seen in significant roles.

The background music and dialogue in this trailer hold great promise. The series is based on Saradindu Bandyopadhyay's Durgo Rahasya. Recently, we saw Dev starring in Byomkesh O Durgo Rahosyo, directed by Birsa Dasgupta, based on the same story. While the film didn't leave a lasting impact, the VFX was highly commendable.

Srijit Mukherji's upcoming mystery thriller, Dawshom Awbotaar, is set to hit theaters this Durga Puja. The director's upcoming projects also include "Padatik," "Oti Uttam," and an untitled film featuring Dev and Rukmini Maitra.
