Guntur Kaaram (2024) Telugu Movie: Mahesh Babu & Trivikram Srinivas Reunited After Khaleja
On the auspicious occasion of Dussehra, Superstar Mahesh Babu unveiled a new poster for his upcoming action thriller Guntur Kaaram, on October 23rd. Written & directed by Trivikram Srinivas, the film is set to hit theaters on January 12, 2024, coinciding with the festival of Sankranthi. It will go head-to-head with Venkatesh's Saindhav and Vijay Deverakonda's Family Star & Teja Sajja’s Hanuman.
The new poster showcases Mahesh Babu in a powerful mass avatar and also announces the imminent release of the first song from this high-budget action thriller, which has been produced with a staggering budget of Rs 200 crores. The star-studded cast includes Jayaram, Jagapathi Babu, Ramya Krishnan, Sunil, and Brahmanadam.
Originally, Pooja Hegde was slated to play the female lead role, with Sreeleela in a supporting character, but due to unforeseen circumstances, Pooja Hegde stepped aside, and Meenakshi Chaudhary was onboarded. Consequently, Sreeleela now assumes the role of the female lead, while Meenakshi Chaudhary plays a supporting role. Prakash Raj will portray Mahesh Babu's grandfather in this action thriller.
Naveen Nooli will be responsible for editing the film, with Manoj Paramahamsa and P.S. Vinod handling the cinematography. Thaman S has been tasked with composing the film's music & Ram-Laxman have choreographed the action sequences. The movie is being produced by Haarika & Haasine Creations, and Netflix has secured the digital distribution rights. The trailer of this film is yet to be released.
Guntur Kaaram: Highly Inflammable, tentatively titled SSMB28 (Superstar Mahesh Babu's 28th film), marks the 3rd collaboration between Trivikram and Mahesh Babu after Athadu and Khaleja. More than 13 years have passed since their last collaboration in Khaleja, and given their track record of delivering blockbusters, expectations are naturally high for this venture.
The film also marks Trivikram's third collaboration with music director Thaman S after Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava and Ala Vaikuntapuramulo. Additionally, this is the fourth time Mahesh Babu and Thaman S are working together, following Sarkaru Vaari Paata, Aagadu, and Businessman.
Mahesh Babu's previous film, Sarkaru Vaari Paata, was a blockbuster, earning over Rs 200 crores worldwide. In his next project, tentatively titled SSMB29, directed by S.S. Rajamouli, he will take on a character inspired by Lord Hanuman from Hindu mythology. This is their first collaboration, and the film promises to be a globe-trotting adventure.
