On November 24, 2023, Natural Star Nani unveiled the trailer for his upcoming romantic family drama, Hi Papa (Hi Nanna) which was tentatively titled Nani30. The film marks the directorial debut of Shouryuv, who is also the story's writer. Produced by Mohan Cherukuri (CVM), Dr. Vijender Reddy Teegala, and Murthy K. S., under the banner Vyra Entertainments.
The 2-and-a-half-minute trailer highlights the bond between Viraj (Nani) and his daughter Mahi (Baby Kiara Khanna). Viraj often shares stories with her, but each time Mahi asks about her mother's identity, he avoids the question.
One day, Yashna (Mrunal Thakur) rescues Mahi from an accident, leading to a sweet bond between them. Viraj decides to reveal the story of Mahi's mother, Varsha (Shruti Haasan). When Mahi asks whom to imagine in place of her mother, Yashna suggests imagining herself in her mother's place.
Heart-touching emotional scenes featuring Nani, Mrunal Thakur, and Baby Kiara Khanna are the major highlights of the trailer. Jayaram, Angad Bedi, and Priyadarshi Pulikonda, who play crucial roles in the film, also make appearances in the trailer.
Nagendra Kasi has penned the dialogues, Sanu Varghese is the cinematographer, Praveen Anthony will edit the film, and Hesham Abdul Wahab will compose the music.
Hi Papa (Hi Nanna) marks Nani's 30th film in a lead role and Mrunal Thakur's 18th film, including cameos and a short film. This year, Nani's only released film was Srikanth Odela's Dasara, which earned over Rs 110 crores at the box office. He will also be seen in the upcoming film Saripodhaa Sanivaaram.
In the same year, Mrunal Thakur was featured in projects like Selfiee, Gumraah, Lust Stories 2, Aankh Micholi, and Pippa. She is set to appear in upcoming films like Pooja Meri Jaan and the Vijay Deverakonda-starring Family Star.
