Kantara Chapter 1 (Kantara 2): Hombale Films and Rishab Shetty's 2nd Collaboration

As promised on November 25, 2023, through an official poster, Hombale Films unveiled the teaser for their upcoming action thriller, Kantara Chapter 1, starring and directed by Rishab Shetty, on November 27, 2023. The film serves as the prequel to Shetty's blockbuster from the previous year, Kantara.

The 1 minute 20 seconds first-look teaser features Rishab Shetty and highlights the birth of a legend during the reign of the Kadambas. Shetty, portraying the character of Shiva, is seen walking into the forest with a torch in hand. Subsequently, he emerges within a circle of fire, his face blood-soaked, adorned with Rudraksha beads and silver bands on his hand, wielding a Trishul.

The first installment of this film went on to become the second-highest-grossing Kannada film of all time, amassing over Rs 400 crores at the box office, trailing only behind Yash's KGF Chapter 2.

Kantara Chapter 1 marks Shetty's fifth directorial venture, his 18th overall project, and his seventh project in a lead role. Additionally, this film represents his second collaboration with Vijay Kiragandur's Hombale Films.

Rishab Shetty, who won the National Film Award for his film Sa.Hi.Pra.Shaale Kasaragodu, Koduge: Ramanna Rai, has received several other awards during his seven-year journey as a director.
