Ajogya (2024) Bengali Movie: Kaushik Ganguly & Prosenjit Chatterjee's 5th Collaboration

On December 6, 2023, Surinder Films unveiled the first look poster for their upcoming romantic drama film, Ajogya. The movie stars Prosenjit Chatterjee and Rituparna Sengupta as the male and female leads, respectively.

Directed by Kaushik Ganguly, this film marks the 50th collaboration between the two versatile actors, setting a record in cinema history for an actor-actress duo working together for the 50th time.

The first look poster, featuring the official logo, showcases Prosenjit Chatterjee in a black half-shirt and denim, alongside Rituparna Sengupta in a red saree with knotted hair, both standing by the sea.

The successful pair made a comeback with Nandita Roy-Shiboprosad Mukherjee's Praktan in 2016 after a 14-year hiatus since Maryada in 2002. They were last seen together in Kaushik Ganguly's Drishtikone in 2018.

Ajogya marks Kaushik Ganguly and Prosenjit Chatterjee's fifth collaboration, following Drishtikone, Kaberi Antardhan, Jyeshthoputro, and Kishore Kumar Junior. Additionally, it marks Ganguly's collaboration with Rituparna Sengupta post-Drishtikone.

In 2023, Kaushik Ganguly released three films, including Ardhangini, Kaberi Antardhan, and Palaan. His upcoming directorial ventures include Asukh Bisukh, Manohar Pandey, and Kabaddi Kabaddi.

Ambarish Bhattacharya and Lily Chakraborty will also play crucial roles in the film. Ajogya is a Nispal Singh presentation under the Surinder Films banner and is scheduled for a 2024 theatrical release.

Ranajoy Bhattacharjee, Anupam Roy, Indraadip Dasgupta, and Silajit Majumder are entrusted with the responsibility of the film's music department.

Prosenjit Chatterjee was last seen in Srijit Mukherji’s Dawshom Awbotaar and is set to appear in upcoming films like Sajghor, Daktar Kaku, and Devi Chowdhurani.

Rituparna Sengupta's latest appearance was in director Nirmal Chakraborty's Datta, and she is lined up for upcoming films such as Labangalata, Chhuti, Sporsho, Jam, Gangchil, Agnibina, Zokhom, and Chhoto Maa.
