Srabanti Chatterjee is set to portray the titular role in Director Subhrajit Mitra’s upcoming film, Devi Chowdhurani: Bandit Queen of Bengal. The storyline is adapted from Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay’s novel, Devi Chowdhurani. Aniruddha Dasgupta and Aparna Dasgupta are producing the film under the banner ADited Motion Pictures. Subhrajit Mitra has penned both the screenplay and dialogues.

Anirban Chatterjee will oversee the cinematography, Sujay Dutta Ray will edit the film, and Bickram Ghosh will be responsible for the music composition. The film revolves around the Hindu Sanyasis' battle against the British during the 1770s. The motion poster was unveiled on May 22 at the grand event of the 76th Cannes Film Festival. On 11th November 2023, ADited Motion Pictures unveiled the first look poster of Srabanti Chatterjee as Profullo/Devi Chowdhurani

Prosenjit Chatterjee is cast as Bhavani Pathak, and Sabyasachi Chakrabarty will be seen as Haraballabh Ray. Arjun Chakrabarty will play the character of Rangaraj, Bibriti Chatterjee as Nishi, Darshana Banik as Sagar, and Kinjal Nanda as Brojeswar. Alex O'Nell and Carl Harte will play crucial roles. With a budget of around Rs 20 crores, the film will be released in Bengali, Hindi, English, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam languages.

Subhrajit Mitra's previous directorial projects include Mon Amour: Shesher Kobita Revisited, Aagunpakhi, Kolkatar Jongoley, Rajbarir Rahashya, Sinduk Rahashya, Chorabali, and Avijatrik.

Srabanti Chatterjee, last seen in Kaushik Ganguly's Kaberi Antardhan, made her OTT debut with Dujone on Hoichoi opposite Soham Chakraborty in 2021. She will also feature in Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee's upcoming film, Amar Boss.
