Babli (2024) Bengali Movie: Raj Chakraborty & Abir Chatterjee's 4th collaboration
On January 1, 2024, Raj Chakraborty Entertainment, the production house, unveiled the announcement teaser for their upcoming romantic drama film, Babli. Directed by Raj Chakraborty, the movie features Abir Chatterjee and Subhashree Ganguly in the lead roles.
The film is an adaptation of Buddhadeb Guha's novel and signifies Raj Chakraborty's return to the director's chair after Dharmajuddha in 2022. Notably, it marks the first collaboration between Abir Chatterjee and Subhashree Ganguly, bringing them together on-screen for the first time.
Raj Chakraborty and Abir Chatterjee are reuniting after a hiatus of 9 years, with their last joint venture being Katmundu in 2015. Babli is their fourth collaboration, following Bojhena Shey Bojhena, Kanamachi, and Katmundu.
Additionally, Babli marks the sixth collaboration between Subhashree Ganguly and director Raj Chakraborty, following successful projects such as "Challenge," Abhimaan, Parineeta, Habji Gabji, and Dharmajuddha. Raj Chakraborty recently made his OTT debut with Abar Proloy starring Saswata Chatterjee. Abir Chatterjee will be seen in Debaloy Bhattacharya's Badami Hyenar Kobole.
The lineup for 2024 is heating up with exciting announcements, including Dev starring Khadaan, Srijit Mukherji-Dev's Tekka, and Jaya Ahsan starring in Bhootpori. The anticipation for these releases is growing day by day.
