Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (2024) Movie: Akshay Kumar & Ali Abbas Zafar’s Maiden Collaboration
On January 20, 2024, Director Ali Abbas Zafar, known for his contributions to films like Sultan, Bharat, Tiger Zinda Hai, and Bloody Daddy, unveiled the first look poster of his 8th directorial venture, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. The star-studded cast includes Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Sonakshi Sinha, Manushi Chhillar, and Alaya F, and the film is scheduled to hit theaters on Eid this year. Ronit Roy is set to play a crucial role in the film, marking the first collaboration of Ali Abbas Zafar with Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, and Prithviraj Sukumaran.
The first look poster showcases Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff wielding guns on a battlefield, with helicopters visible above, accompanied by the tagline, "The world is about to end and... our heroes will rise." This film marks Akshay Kumar's return to the action genre after his appearances in films like OMG 2, Mission Raniganj, and Selfiee last year. He is also set to feature in upcoming films such as Sky Force, Singham Again, Khel Khel Mein, Welcome To The Jungle, and Hera Pheri 3.
Tiger Shroff, last seen in Ganapath Part 1, will also be featured in Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again. Prithviraj Sukumaran, known for his role in blockbuster Salaar Part 1 Ceasefire, takes on the role of the villain in Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, and he is set to appear in Vilayath Buddha, The Goat Life, Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil, and L2: Empuraan.
Aalia Furniturewala, in her 5th film role after appearing in Freddy, is set to star in upcoming films like Sri & Ek Aur Ghazab Kahani. Sonakshi Sinha, last seen in the Dahaad web series in 2023 and Double XL in 2022, will also appear in upcoming films like Nikita Roy and The Book of Darkness, Heeramandi, & Kakuda. Ronit Roy, featured in films like Bloody Daddy, Gumraah, Shehzada, & Farrey last year, continues his diverse roles.
Miss World 2018 Manushi Chhillar, making her 5th appearance in this film after her debut in Samrat Prithviraj, recently appeared in The Great Indian Family opposite Vicky Kaushal and is set to feature in upcoming films like Operation Valentine & Tehran.
Produced with a budget of around Rs 250 crores, the film is a collaborative effort between Jackky Bhagnani, Vashu Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, Ali Abbas Zafar, and Himanshu Kishan Mehra, under the banners Pooja Entertainment & AAZ Films. The director, Ali Abbas Zafar, has written the story himself, and the teaser is scheduled for release on January 24. Marcin Laskawiec is the cinematographer, Steven H. Bernard will edit the film, and Julius Packiam will handle the background score, with Vishal Mishra composing the music.
David Dhawan's action comedy Bade Miyan Chote Miyan starring Amitabh Bachchan, Govinda, Ramya Krishnan, and Raveena Tandon was released in theatres on 16th October 1998.
