Bonbibi: Widows of the Wild (2024) Bengali Movie Teaser Review:
On January 26, 2024, in celebration of India’s Republic Day, Dag Creative Media unveiled the teaser for their upcoming film, Bonbibi: Widows of the Wild. Directed by Rajdeep Ghosh, the film features a stellar cast including Parno Mitra, Arya DasGupta, Sohini Sarkar, Rupanjana Mitra, and Dibyendu Bhattacharjee in leading roles. It is set to hit theaters on March 1, 2024.
The 1-minute teaser provides a glimpse into the lives of widows in Sundarbans and the mysteries and crimes that surround the local community. Ranojoy Bishnu appears in a police uniform, with Sohini Sarkar also making an appearance in one of the scenes. The teaser showcases the first-time pairing of Parno Mitra and Arya DasGupta, with their romantic scenes garnering attention.
Parno Mitra remarks, “The tiger is the biggest enemy of widows,” while Dibyendu Bhattacharjee warns, “The tiger is always watching.” The teaser, edited by Tirthankar Roy, effectively maintains suspense, complemented by an impressive background score by Shovan Mukherjee.
Arya DasGupta previously featured in director Raj Chakraborty’s "Abar Proloy" last year, while Parno Mittra was last seen in "Pakdondi." This marks the first collaboration between Rajdeep Ghosh and Parno Mitra.
Soumyadip Sikdar and Saptak Sanai Das have composed the music for the film, with Rohit Soumya credited for the story, screenplay, and dialogues, along with Annapurna Basu. Subhajit Singha and Sumit Chowdhury have edited the film, while Supriyo Dutta handled the cinematography. The official poster of this film was unveiled on 21st January 2024.
