Shapath 2 Bengali Movie: Raja Chanda & Tota Roy Chowdhury’s 2nd Collaboration
On January 23, 2024, Actor Tota Roy Chowdhury unveiled a glimpse from the shooting of his upcoming action thriller, Shapath 2, confirming that the shooting has commenced. The sneak peek features Tota Roy Chowdhury donned in a police uniform, engaged in an intense action sequence.
Directed by Raja Chanda, the film serves as a sequel to Arup Kumar De's directorial, Shapath: The Promise, released in 2015. Tota Roy Chowdhury will reprise his role as Inspector Ranadeep Roy, an honest and dutiful police officer who doesn't compromise on his responsibilities. Paean Sarkar will be portraying the character of Ranadeep Roy’s wife in this film. This project marks the second collaboration between Raja Chanda and Tota Roy Chowdhury after Picasso. There is no official update about the rest of the cast and release date of Shapath 2 yet.
Having served the industry for over 30 years since his acting debut in 1993 with "Duranta Prem," Tota Roy Chowdhury initially ventured into commercial films. However, in recent years, he has embraced diverse and challenging characters, earning success and appreciation from audiences.
Director Raja Chanda has been part of the industry for the past 14 years since making his directorial debut with "Target: The Final Mission" in 2014. Although he experienced success early in his career with consecutive commercial hits, the recent years have not been as fruitful. His last directorial project, the Picasso web series, premiered on Klikk. Upcoming projects include "Haloom," starring Satyam Bhattacharya, Paean Sarkar, and Chandan Sen.
Tota Roy Chowdhury's web series, Jaha Bolibo Shotto Bolibo, premiered on Hoichoi this month. Additionally, he is set to appear in Nikhoj 2, Srijit Mukherji’s Feludar Goyendagiri Season 2, and Tekka.
