On February 15, 2024, People Media Factory confirmed the addition of Emraan Hashmi to the cast of their upcoming spy thriller, Goodachari 2. They stated, "The biggest spy franchise gets a blockbuster addition, The ever sensational @emraanhashmi is on board mission #G2, He is all set to enthrall everyone with his presence, shoot in progress."
The film stars Adivi Sesh, known for his roles in Kshanam and Major, as the male lead, and Banita Sandhu as the female lead. Goodachari 2 marks the directorial debut of Vinay Kumar Sirigineedi, who previously served as the editor for Major. It serves as the sequel to Director Sashi Kiran Tikka’s action spy thriller Goodachari, which featured Adivi Sesh, Sobhita Dhulipala, Jagapathi Babu, and Prakash Raj.
Jointly produced by TG Vishwa Prasad, Abhishek Agarwal, and AK Entertainments, Goodachari 2 will be released in Pan India in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada languages.
Banita Sandhu made her acting debut in 2018 with October starring Varun Dhawan and played a crucial role in Sardar Udham starring Vicky Kaushal. Emraan Hashmi was last seen in Tiger 3 starring Salman Khan and will also appear as the antagonist in the upcoming film OG starring Pawan Kalyan.
Goodachari 2 marks the first collaboration between director Vinay Kumar Sirigineedi and actors Emraan Hashmi, Adivi Sesh, and Banita Sandhu. It also marks the first time Adivi Sesh and Banita Sandhu will appear together on screen. Sricharan Pakala is handling the music composition, Azeem is the cinematographer, and Kodati Pavan Kalyan is editing G2. The shooting of the film is currently in progress.
