On February 14th, 2024, Balaji Motion Pictures confirmed the release date of their upcoming film Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 (LSD2) with the quote: “Yeh Valentine's Day nahin aasan, bas itna samajh lijiye, Love Sex Aur Dhokha ka dariya hai aur doob ke jaana hai!”
The film serves as the sequel to Dibakar Banerjee's directorial Love Sex Aur Dhokha, which starred Anshuman Jha, Nushrat Bharucha, & Rajkummar Rao and garnered positive responses from both critics and audiences upon its 2010 release.
Directed once again by Dibakar Banerjee, the sequel features Nimrit Ahluwalia, Rossana Elsa Scugugia, & Anupam Joardar in the lead roles. Notably, it marks the Bollywood debut of Nimrit Ahluwalia, known for her stint on Big Boss 16. Ektaa Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor have produced the film, with Anand Bansal & Riju Das handling cinematography duties.
Anupam Joardar, previously seen in the web series Special Ops, will also appear in Sky Force, starring Akshay Kumar. Rossana Elsa Scugugia made a cameo appearance in Siddharth Anand's Fighter earlier this year. Dibakar Banerjee's last directorial venture was Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar in 2021.
Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 (LSD2) marks Dibakar Banerjee's 10th directorial venture and promises to explore the complexities of modern relationships in the age of technological obsession.
The motion poster creatively integrates icons from social media platforms like likes, emojis, hearts, calling apps, WhatsApp, YouTube, and others into a heart shape. Additionally, the film reunites Dibakar Banerjee and Ektaa Kapoor after 14 years.
