On February 3rd, 2024, Shadow Films unveiled the trailer of their upcoming romantic comedy film, Palasher Biye. Directed by Premendu Bikash Chaki, the film stars Mimi Chakraborty and Somraj in the lead roles, with Anjana Basu, Biswajit Chakraborty, Alokananda Banerjee, Rajat Ganguly, Dolon Roy, and Subhrajit Dutta in supporting roles.
The film will be released On ZEE5 on 9th February 2024 & on ZEE Bangla Cinema on 14th February 202.
The nearly 2-minute trailer begins with Palash's grandmother expressing her wish to see his marriage before she dies. Shalini Sen (Mimi Chakraborty) desires a family where she can live with her husband in a separate flat to spend quality time together, but her father insists on a joint family setup. Palash introduces Shalini to his family, portraying them as the household's servants. What unfolds when Shalini discovers the truth about Palash's family? Will she marry him?
Mimi Chakraborty and Somraj exhibit promising on-screen chemistry in the trailer. The film is presented by Shadow Films and Roadshow Films, with Parambrata Chattopadhyay as the story writer and Padmanabha Dasgupta handling the screenplay and dialogues. Subhankar Dey and Suvam Mukherjee will compose the music, Sumit Chowdhury is responsible for editing, and Subrata Mallick will handle the cinematography. This film marks the first collaboration between Premendu Bikash Chaki and Mimi Chakraborty, and it also features the first pairing of Mimi Chakraborty and Somraj Maity.
Premendu Bikash Chaki's previous directorial effort was Love Marriage. Mimi Chakraborty was last seen in Jaha Bolibo Shotto Bolibo on Hoichoi, and she will also appear in Toofan opposite Shakib Khan. Somraj was last seen in Nikhonj: The Search Begins.
