The nearly 3-minute trailer highlights solid punchlines and brilliantly choreographed action sequences featuring Sidharth Malhotra. It begins with Arun Katyal (Sidharth Malhotra), who dreams of becoming an Indian Soldier like his father, Major Surender Katyal (Ronit Roy). Arun is determined to either wear the uniform or the Indian Flag. However, due to an unexpected event, the entire team, including Arun Katyal, is suspended.
Major Surender Katyal advises his son that while the uniform suits him, he needs to earn it first and then respect it for the rest of his life. Meanwhile, an Indian flight is hijacked by Pakistani terrorists, and Arun Katyal is on a mission to save the passengers. He refuses to negotiate with terrorists. The question remains: Will Arun Katyal be able to save the passengers aboard the flight?
Sidharth Malhotra's action sequences, background score, and dialogues are the major highlights of the trailer. This marks the first time Sidharth Malhotra and Raashii Khanna share the screen space, and their on-screen chemistry appears promising in the trailer, complemented by an impressive background score by John Stewart Eduri. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on March 15th, 2024.
Raashii Khanna portrays Arun’s wife, Mehreen Katyal, in two scenes, while Disha Patani also makes an appearance in one scene in the trailer. "Yodha" has been produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, and Apoorva Mehta under the banner of Dharma Productions, marking the 8th collaboration between producer Karan Johar and actor Sidharth Malhotra.
While Sidharth Malhotra previously impressed audiences with his portrayal of a soldier in "Shershaah", the story of "Yodha" offers a different narrative. While similar stories have been seen before, audiences will have to wait two more weeks to see how Sagar Ambre and Pushkar Ojha execute this action thriller and whether they introduce any unique twists to the storyline.
