On 22nd March 2024, Superstar Jeet announced a new release date for his upcoming movie Boomerang. Directed by Sauvik Kundu, the film, which was originally set to release on 10th May 2024, has now been rescheduled to hit the screens on 7th June 2024.
Rukmini Maitra plays the female lead in the film, while Kharaj Mukherjee, Rajatava Dutta, Saurav Das, and Debchandrima will portray pivotal roles. This film marks Jeet’s first collaboration with both Sauvik Kundu and Rukmini Maitra.
Several other upcoming films were also slated for release in April and May. These include Ankush Hazra’s Mirza, Srijit Mukherji’s Padatik, and Nandita Roy-Shiboprosad Mukherjee’s Amar Boss, along with Jeet’s Boomerang. However, the West Bengal Lok Sabha Election 2024, scheduled from 19th April to 1st June, has raised concerns among moviegoers and filmmakers alike.
It appears that this electoral event influenced Superstar Jeet's decision to postpone the release of Boomerang, a move that seems prudent given the potential impact on box office collections. It remains to be seen whether other filmmakers will follow suit and adjust their film release dates or maintain their original schedules.
