On May 6th, 2024, ZEE Music Bangla unveiled the trailer for the upcoming thriller Nerve, directed by Sayan Basu Chowdhury. The film stars Ruppsha Mukhopadhyay, Akshay Arun, and Ananya Guha in the lead roles, with Buddhadeb Bhattacharya, Swati Mukherjee, Subhajit Adgiri, and Aishiki Bose in supporting roles.
The 2-minute, 10-second trailer provides a brief overview of the plot, which revolves around two sisters portrayed by Ruppsha Mukhopadhyay and Ananya Guha. The film marks the debut of Akshay Arun, who plays the character of Deb.
Ananya Guha's character falls in love with him, but her elder sister is attempting to harm both of them. The trailer raises questions about why Ruppsha Mukhopadhyay's character wants to harm her sister and Deb.
However, the trailer editing has not been up to the mark, revealing too much about the plot. The makers should have kept Ruppsha Mukhopadhyay's character's dark side a secret.
Ruppsha Mukhopadhyay was last seen in Suman Maitra's Abar Awronne Dinratri. The story, screenplay, and dialogues of "Nerve" have been written by Sayan Basu Chowdhury. Amit Mitra will compose the music, and Rafiqul Islam is responsible for the cinematography. The film has been produced by Adesh Agarwal and Sarbani Basu Chowdhury under the banners Radhe Krishna Films and Moving Reels Entertainment. Aritra Dutta Banik is the promo editor and colorist.
Sayan Basu Chowdhury previously directed "Horror Stories" in 2021, "Mgh Bristir Molat" in 2019, and "Kichu Na Bola Kotha" in 2017.
