On July 20, 2024, Hoichoi unveiled the official teaser of their upcoming romantic drama series Parineeta. Directed by Aditi Roy, the series features Debchandrima Singha Roy and Gaurav Chakrabarty in the lead roles.
The story of Parineeta is based on the novel of the same title by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay, which has been adapted into films multiple times in multiple languages. Debchandrima Singha Roy will portray the female protagonist, Lalita, while Gaurav Chakrabarty will portray the male protagonist, Shekhar.
The 1.5-minute teaser shows the lead characters and includes a few dialogues from Gaurav Chakrabarty and one dialogue from Debchandrima Singha Roy. Another scene depicts the freedom movement.
The cinematography looks impressive, as the shots in the teaser have been captured nicely. Indraadip Dasgupta’s music composition also seems impressive. Debchandrima Singha Roy and Gaurav Chakrabarty’s on-screen chemistry will be another interesting aspect of this series.
Sarbari Ghoshal, who previously wrote the screenplay for Bodhon 2 and Raktabeej, has written the screenplay for Parineeta as well. Debchandrima Singha Roy has shown promise with her performances in Preme Pora Baron and Boomerang recently. Gaurav Chakrabarty’s recent performances in Abar Proloy and Chhotolok were impressive.
