On 4th July 2024, Innovative Films unveiled the official trailer of their upcoming romantic drama film Surjo, directed by Shieladitya Moulik. The film stars Vikram Chatterjee in the titular role and Madhumita Sarcar as the female lead, with Darshana Banik in a supporting role. The film is scheduled to be released in theaters on 19th July 2024.
The nearly two-and-a-half-minute trailer begins with Madhumita Sarcar resigning from her job to explore the world. She arrives at a house filled with drawings and memories. According to the narrator, Surjo (Vikram Chatterjee) is the artist behind these drawings. She starts looking for Surjo, who has changed the lives of everyone he has met. Will she be able to find Surjo?
Vikram Chatterjee looks refreshing as a romantic hero in the trailer. His chemistry with Madhumita Sarcar will be an interesting aspect of this film, as they previously shared screen space in Kuler Achaar. Vikram Chatterjee has transformed himself from an action hero in Pariah Vol 1 to a romantic hero in Surjo. We will have to wait a bit longer to see how audiences react to his new avatar.
The music composition and background score by Loy Deep are another major highlight of this trailer. Ananda Adhya is the art director, and Ayan Sil is the DOP of this film. The film, which marks Vikram Chatterjee and Shieladitya Moulik’s maiden collaboration, is the official remake of the Dulquer Salmaan, Parvathy, and Aparna Gopinath-starring film Charlie.
