Superstar Dev Hints at Possible Tekka Teaser Release with New Social Media Post?

After receiving a massive response to the teaser of the movie Khadaan, Superstar Dev shared a post on his social media handle yesterday. The post features Director Srijit Mukherji standing in front of a poster from Tekka displayed on a screen, which resembles the end credits typically seen in a teaser or trailer, hinting that the teaser for the film might be released soon.

The poster shows Superstar Dev with a thick beard, disheveled hair, and wearing a striped shirt and brown pants, carrying a young girl on his shoulder. The background features a busy street scene with vehicles and people, though they are slightly blurred.

Tekka Movie: Dev and Rukmini Maitra's 8th Collaboration

Rukmini Maitra, Swastika Mukherjee, Toton Roychowdhury, and Paran Bandyopadhyay will portray crucial roles in Tekka, which marks the 45th film in Dev’s career. The film also represents Dev’s 8th collaboration with Rukmini Maitra and his 2nd with Srijit Mukherji. On February 4th, 2024, Srijit Mukherji confirmed that the shooting for the film had wrapped up. Dev had unveiled the first-look poster on his previous birthday.

The story of Tekka has been adapted from Bhaskar Chattopadhyay’s book, with Srijit Mukherji co-writing the screenplay. Srijit Mukherji has also written the dialogues. Modhura Palit is the Director of Photography (DOP), Ranajoy Bhattacharjee is composing the music, and Pronoy Dasgupta is editing the film.

Currently, hope and tension seem to coexist for actors, directors, and producers of Bengali films. The recent rape and murder of a doctor at R.G. Kar Hospital has shocked people across West Bengal, impacting the box office performance of Bengali films like Babli and Padatik.

Producers are particularly concerned about the box office numbers for films releasing during this year’s Durga Puja. Alongside Srijit Mukherji’s Tekka, Pathikrit Basu’s Shastri, and Nandita Roy-Shiboprosad Mukherjee’s Bohurupi are also set to release during this festive season. Let’s hope that audiences will once again shower their love on Bengali films during the most celebrated festival of the year, Durga Puja.
