The highly anticipated teaser of the upcoming Bengali film Bohurupi was unveiled by the makers on 6th September 2024. The film, directed by the hit duo Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee, is set to be released in theatres on 8th October 2024, clashing with Tekka and Shastri.
The hype surrounding Bohurupi is greater compared to the other two big films releasing on the same date. The makers' intention is clear: they want to continue their successful run at the box office.
The director duo, who have gifted audiences some of the best family dramas during their career spanning more than 13 years since their debut in 2011 with Icche, has begun exploring the thriller genre following last year's blockbuster Raktabeej.
It seems they have a roadmap ready to make Bohurupi the biggest Bengali film of the year, which is evident in their aggressive promotion. They previously shared an announcement teaser, and now they have released another stunning teaser.
The 1-minute 45-second teaser begins with SI Sumanta Ghoshal (Abir Chatterjee) narrating a story of his failure from his book titled Bohurupi. This is not the kind of character we have seen Abir Chatterjee play in his career. Shiboprosad Mukherjee, possibly portraying an artist, initially appears in various disguises in this teaser.
The final dialogue of the teaser, where Shiboprosad Mukherjee says to Abir Chatterjee, "Asol Bohurupi to apni," and Abir Chatterjee responds with "Son of a pig," with a smile, was a whistle-worthy moment.
The teaser also highlights Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Koushani Mukherjee’s romantic angle. Ritabhari Chakraborty and Abir Chatterjee’s on-screen chemistry and their inner struggle will be another important aspect to watch out for in this film.
The teaser's editing is brilliant, and the background score will leave you stunned. Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Abir Chatterjee’s face-off and their backstory certainly look captivating. The film has every element to be one of the biggest Bengali films of 2024.
The recent rape and murder of a doctor at R G Kar Hospital have impacted the Bengali films business a bit. Only time will tell whether this will also affect the films releasing this Durga Puja.
