Yesterday, Superstar Dev promised in a social media post that he would share something from his upcoming film Tekka, which is scheduled for release during this year's Durga Puja. Directed by Srijit Mukherji, the film stars Dev, Rukmini Maitra, Swastika Mukherjee, Tota Roychowdhury, and Paran Bandyopadhyay.
Today, Dev Entertainment Ventures unveiled the first look poster of Rukmini Maitra, who will portray the character of Maya. The poster features Rukmini dressed in a brown leather jacket, holding a handgun in her right hand, aimed upwards. Her attire and the gun suggest an action-oriented role.
She wears aviator sunglasses, which add to her tough, cool persona, and her hair is styled in a short, sharp cut, further enhancing the bold look. Rukmini Maitra has been choosing versatile roles in her career lately. She was last seen in Sauvik Kundu’s Boomerang, where she played a double role, with her portrayal of a robot leaving everyone stunned.
Tekka is set to hit theaters on October 8, 2024. PVR INOX Pictures and Saregama are the distribution and music partners for this film. The film marks Rukmini's first collaboration with director Srijit Mukherji and her eighth collaboration with Dev.
With the promotions for films releasing this Durga Puja in full swing, Bengali cinema is hoping to draw large audiences back to theaters during the festive season. *Shastri* by Pathikrit Basu and Bohurupi by Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee will also compete in theaters during this Durga Puja.
