Kaante Movie: Amitabh Bachchan Starring & Sanjay Gupta Directorial Film Turned 22 Years

Sanjay Gupta's directorial action thriller film Kaante turned 22 years. The film was produced by Pritish Nandy, Film Club Limited, Larry Mortoff, and Sanjay Sippy under the banners of White Feather Films, and PNC Films.

The film starring Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Sunil Shetty, Lucky Ali, Mahesh Manjrekar, and Kumar Gaurav, was released in theatres on 20th December 2002. Anand Raj Anand, Vishal–Shekhar, Lucky Ali, and Gregor Narholz composed the music for this film.

Kurt Brabbee handled the Cinematography and Bunty Nagi edited this film. Sanjay Gupta and Yash-Vinay have written the screenplay and Milap Zaveri has written the dialogues of Kaante.

The film marked the 6th directorial venture of Sanjay Gupta. He made his directorial debut with the action crime film Aatish: Feel the Fire starring Sanjay Dutt, Aditya Pancholi, Raveena Tandon, Karishma Kapoor, Atul Agnihotri, in 1994.

The film marked director Sanjay Gupta’s 4th collaboration with Sanjay Dutt after Aatish: Feel the Fire, Jung, Khauff. Kaante marked director Sanjay Gupta’s maiden collaboration with Amitabh Bachchan, Suniel Shetty, and Lucky Ali.

The film was made on a budget of approximately Rs 30 crore and earned around Rs 43 crore at the box office. As reported by the Indian trade website Box Office India, the soundtrack album of this film, with approximately 18,00,000 units sold, became the fourth highest-selling of the year.
