Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai Movie: Hrithik Roshan & Ameesha Patel Starring Film Turned 25 Years

Rakesh Roshan's directorial musical romantic thriller film Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai turned 25 years. The film was produced by Rakesh Roshan under the banner of Filmkraft Productions Pvt Ltd and distributed by Yash Raj Films and Eros International.

Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai starring Hrithik Roshan, Ameesha Patel, Anupam Kher, Dalip Tahil, and Mohnish Bahl, in the lead roles, was released in theatres on 14th January 2000. The film marked the debut of Hrithik Roshan and Ameesha Patel in the lead roles.

The film marked the maiden collaboration between Hrithik Roshan and Ameesha Patel. The film, made on a budget of around Rs 10 crores, achieved a box office collection of around Rs 80 crores.

The film marked the 9th directorial venture of Rakesh Roshan. He made his directorial debut with the action drama film Khudgarz starring Jeetendra, Shatrughan Sinha, Bhanupriya, Amrita Singh, Govinda, Neelam.

Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai marked director Rakesh Roshan's maiden collaboration with Hrithik Roshan and Ameesha Patel. Rakesh Roshan has written the story and dialogues while Ravi Kapoor and Honey Irani have written the screenplay of Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai.

The film achieved the remarkable feat of being inducted into the Guinness World Records in 2002 for securing the highest number of awards ever won by a feature film. It garnered an impressive total of 92 accolades across various ceremonies and categories, cementing its place in cinematic history.

Rakesh Roshan, serving as both director and producer, celebrated his first-ever Filmfare Award victory, while his son Hrithik Roshan achieved an unprecedented milestone by becoming the only actor in Filmfare history to win both the Best Actor and Best Debut awards for the same film.

The core concept of the film drew inspiration from the 1986 Kannada classic Ratha Sapthami directed by M. S. Rajashekar. 

Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai was re-released in theatres on January 10, 2025, in celebration of Roshan's 51st birthday, offering audiences a chance to relive the cinematic magic. 

At the 46th Filmfare Awards, the film received 13 nominations and won 9 awards. Rajesh Roshan composed the music, Kabir Lal handled the cinematography, and Sanjay Verma edited this film.
