On 7th January 2025, Mythri Movie Makers surprised fans by announcing that a reloaded version of Pushpa 2, featuring 20 minutes of additional footage, will be released in cinemas on 11th January 2025.
Sukumar's directorial action thriller Pushpa 2 starring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil, in the lead roles, was released in theatres on 5 December 2024. This action blockbuster has already shattered several records at the box office and is currently in its fifth week of release.
Pushpa 2 becomes the fastest film to cross the Rs 500 crore. It has become the first dubbed version to surpass the Rs 800 crore mark in Hindi and has also crossed the Rs 1800 crore milestone worldwide.
The film has emerged as the highest-grossing Indian film of 2024. Pushpa 2 sets a record with both the highest opening day collection and the highest opening week collection of all time.
Pushpa 2 has set new records, grossing Rs 1,831 crore worldwide and Rs 1,438 crore in India, officially surpassing Baahubali 2: The Conclusion to become the highest-grossing Indian film ever.
The new poster featuring Allu Arjun is from the Japan sequence, shown in the trailer but cut from the theatrical version. Fans are excited for an extended version of these scenes, along with other key additions in the 20 minutes of new content.
The reloaded version arrives as Pushpa 2 faces tough competition in the Telugu states with major Sankranthi releases, including Ram Charan’s Game Changer, Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Daaku Maharaj, and Venkatesh Daggubati’s Sankranthiki Vasthunnam.
