Ahmed Khan's directorial action thriller film Baaghi 2 completed 7 years. Featuring Tiger Shroff, Disha Patani, Manoj Bajpayee, Darshan Kumar, Prateik Babbar, and Randeep Hooda in lead roles, the film was released in theatres on 30 March 2018.
This film is a remake of the 2016 Telugu film Kshanam, directed by Ravikanth Perepu and starring Adivi Sesh, Adah Sharma, Anasuya Bharadwaj, Vennela Kishore, Satyam Rajesh, and Satyadev. The film became the 7th highest-grossing Hindi film of 2018.
The screenplay for the film is crafted by Ahmed Khan, Shaan Yadav, Abbas Hierapurwala, and Niraj Kumar Mishra. The original story is credited to Adivi Sesh, while the adapted version has been developed by Sajid Nadiadwala.
Sajid Nadiadwala produces this film under his banner, Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, while Fox Star Studios takes charge of distribution. Julius Packiam composed the background score, while the songs were created by a talented lineup including Mithoon, Arko, Sandeep Shirodkar, Gourov-Roshin, and Pranaay Rijia.
Made on an estimated budget of ₹60 crores, the film went on to achieve massive commercial success, grossing over ₹250 crores at the box office. The film marked the maiden collaboration between Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani.
Baaghi 2 is the second chapter in the action-packed Baaghi franchise. The first film, directed by Sabbir Khan, brought together Tiger Shroff, Shraddha Kapoor, and Sudheer Babu, and was released on 29 April 2016.
The fourth installment of the Baaghi franchise, Baaghi 4, will be directed by A. Harsha and will feature Tiger Shroff, Harnaaz Sandhu, Sonam Bajwa, and Sanjay Dutt. The film is set to release in theatres on 5th September 2025.
