Jaat 2 Movie: Mythri Movie Makers and Sunny Deol Team Up for another Bollywood Mass Explosion

On 17th April 2025, Mythri Movie Makers officially announced via their social media platforms that they are reuniting with the Bollywood superstar Sunny Deol for their next venture — an action-packed thriller titled Jaat 2.

The announcement of Jaat 2 came as a surprise to many moviegoers. Despite Jaat, made on a hefty budget of approximately ₹100 crores, releasing in theatres on 10 April 2025, the film is yet to recover its full investment from its theatrical run.

The decision by Mythri Movie Makers to greenlight a sequel has sparked discussions across the industry, raising questions about the production house’s strategy and future plans for the franchise.

Mythri Movie Makers has been trying to crack the Bollywood market for a while now. Back in 2020, there were even reports of discussions for a collaboration with Bollywood Superstar Salman Khan.

While that particular project didn’t materialize at the time, the production house eventually made its Hindi film debut with Farrey, co-produced alongside Salman Khan Films, Athena, and Reel Life Productions. Although the film didn’t perform well, they weren’t ready to give up just yet.

The announcement of Jaat 2, the sequel to Jaat, clearly signals that Mythri Movie Makers are now setting their sights on conquering Bollywood, just as they have already dominated the Telugu film industry.

Mythri Movie Makers have consistently collaborated with the biggest superstars of the Telugu film industry. Their impressive lineup includes Srimanthudu and Sarkaru Vaari Paata with Mahesh Babu, Janatha Garage with N. T. Rama Rao Jr.,

Pushpa: The Rise and Pushpa 2: The Rule with Allu Arjun, Rangasthalam with Ram Charan, Veera Simha Reddy with Nandamuri Balakrishna, and Waltair Veerayya with Chiranjeevi.

Jaat 2 will mark director Gopichand Malineni's 3rd collaboration with Mythri Movie Makers after Veera Simha Reddy and Jaat. The film marks director Gopichand Malineni’s second Hindi venture, his second collaboration with Sunny Deol, and also the second time the trio—Sunny Deol, Gopichand Malineni, and Mythri Movie Makers—are teaming up.

Overall, Jaat has been a satisfying experience for audiences who enjoy commercial mass entertainers. It’s a win not just for the makers but potentially for many actors and directors as Mythri Movie Makers continue their Bollywood journey, paving the way for more South–Bollywood crossovers.
