Actress Sonakshi Sinha is all set to make her comeback to the big screen in a lead role after more than two and a half years with the upcoming psychological thriller Nikita Roy and The Book of Darkness. The film will be released in theatres on 30 May 2025
On 19th April 2025, the makers unveiled the official poster and confirmed the film’s release date. Directed by Sonakshi Sinha's brother Kussh S Sinha, the film features a stellar cast including Sonakshi Sinha, Arjun Rampal, Paresh Rawal, and Suhail Nayyar in lead roles.
Before making her return in a lead role with Nikita Roy and The Book of Darkness, Sonakshi Sinha was last seen in director Aditya Sarpotdar’s horror-comedy Kakuda, which premiered on Zee5 last year. She also made a special appearance in Ali Abbas Zafar’s action entertainer Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.
The film marks the directorial debut of Kussh S Sinha, who previously worked as an assistant director on Abhinav Kashyap’s Besharam. He also directed the short film Khoon Mein Hai, which starred Kajal Aggarwal, Akash Ahuja, and Aparshakti Khurana.
Alongside the main producers, the film is co-produced by Anand Mehta, Prakash Nand Bijlani, Shakti Bhatnagar, Mehnaaz Shaikh, and Prem Raj Joshi—ensuring a compelling blend of creativity and production value.
Backed by an impressive lineup of producers, Nikita Roy and The Book of Darkness is presented by Nicky Vicky Bhagnani Films in association with Nikita Pai Films Ltd. The film is produced by Nickky Khemchand Bhagnani, Kinjal Ashok Ghone, Vicky Bhagnani, Ankur Vijay Takrani, Dinesh Ratiram Gupta, and Kratos Entertainment—promising a high-quality production for this psychological thriller.
The story and screenplay of this film are penned by renowned filmmaker Pavan Kirpalani, best known for writing and directing films such as Gaslight, Bhoot Police, and Ragini MMS. The poster has a dark, mysterious blue and black background with eerie lighting effects and shadowy textures, suggesting psychological and supernatural elements.
